About Commercial

Our Commercial organization leads our global sales and marketing strategies around the world. Our integrated team continues to solidify BioMarin’s commercial presence in the United States and Europe and is rapidly growing in other regions, such as Latin America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Role Overview

The Senior Director will lead the global launch of INZ-701, an ENPP1 Fc fusion protein enzyme replacement therapy designed to restore pyrophosphate and adenosine levels. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record of successfully bringing rare disease pharmaceutical products to the market, coupled with the ability to navigate the complexities of global regulatory & reimbursement environments. This is a new role within an evolved organization operating model. The individual will be a key member of the Enzyme Therapies Marketing team, reporting to the Head of Marketing, Enzyme Therapies BU. This role will be accountable for creating the integrated commercial strategy for INZ-701, leading the global commercialization and launch efforts with the intent of maximizing market opportunities. S/he must have the proven ability to collaborate, influence across stakeholder groups, effectively network across the organization and communicate with senior leaders all within a fast moving, challenging and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive global launch strategy for INZ-701, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a high-performing launch Brand team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Market Penetration: Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to optimize the reach and adoption of INZ-701, leveraging market research and competitive analysis.
  • Lead the collaboration between the Enzyme Therapies BU Marketing and in-country Marketing ensuring strategic alignment that can support and address market launch opportunities and challenges.
  • Deliver & ensure consistent branding, positioning, and messaging platforms across markets.
  • Effectively partner with Supply Chain to ensure launch supply planning and readiness
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with key cross-functional partners such as Medical Affairs, Value, Access and Strategic Pricing, Worldwide R&D and Pipeline & Portfolio Strategy to develop a cohesive, insights-driven launch brand strategy and meeting the needs of BioMarin’s strategic markets, balancing both near-term and long-term priorities
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and industry bodies, to drive awareness and support for INZ-701.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the budget for the launch program, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and monitoring financial performance against targets.
  • Develop brand specific investor relations messaging.
  • Leverage knowledge of the current and future market to provide insights for forecasting, strategic and corporate planning
  • Active contributor and member of Enzyme Therapies BU marketing team

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in life sciences, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Experience of enzyme therapies or similar therapeutic areas preferred.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading global product launches and navigating complex market landscapes.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong strategic, analytical, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Global Perspective: Experience working in a global environment, with an understanding of diverse cultural and market dynamics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with enzyme replacement therapies or other biologics.
  • Strong network within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

Location and Travel

The preferred location for this role is San Rafael, California with the expectation of significant international travel to oversee and support the global launch activities.

The salary range for this position is: $223,000 to $306,570. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
